Hi.  I just recently moved to PoCo and have never ridden up Burke.  I'm introducing my gf to riding shore and would like to know if you recommend any trails up on Burke that are on the easier side.  I could always take her up to the Academy trail in Eagle but since I live at the base of Burke, I'm wondering if there's easy to intermediate trails that I can introdube her to slowly without sketching her out.  Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks.

One last question ryando, is there a way we both can cut through to hit Triple Crown?  the map on gutsploders shows that we've gotta walk the length to the top to get to the beginning of the trail....  any suggestions??  Cut through elevator???

Never done a cut thru so I couldnt tell you.  The walk up the old skid road isnt that bad, it starts off steep but evens out after a while, just watch out for the bears!

If you really want to show your GF a good time, take her up to the Woodlot.  Cabin/Snakes/Shotgun is a great way to get into this type of riding

mickmart, I got a buddy that I introduced to riding on those very same trails.  He was hooked, started nailing jumps on snakes and shotgun, havin a blast.  A little over confident, we went to whistler last thursday.  He had his elbow screwed and wired back together today.

ryando, the long and short of it is, burke mountain is pretty gnarly.  Triple crown is a lot of fun, the newer lower section is the funnest part of it.  To hit that you don't need to go all the way up to the top.  Just go in the gate below the gun club and keep going straight.  You'll pass where the part of Triple Crown  that used to be called The Red "R" comes out and about another 200 to 300 yards up the hill you'll come across a trail on your right.  Not sure what it's called, but this trail will take you down to a trail called the Fly Wheel (not sure of it's condition) or you can go right at that junction and come out on the road at the 'hair pin' corner on the way up harper toward the gun club.  Some people park here and ride all the way up.

Personally, I'd go to the woodlot.  The trails are all really smooth and you can ride around damn near everything and still feel like your king, or queen.

my my things have changed.. lol... thanks ryando and innertubeman for the tips...  my gf, now my wife Smiley is hooked on riding.

We just bought a home off 240th in Maple Ridge and still haven't ridden the Woodlot.
We're planning on it soon though.. lol ... she just gave birth to our first child (2.5 weeks ago)

We'll most def try the trails you mentioned innertube!
We just gotta find a baby sitter now!!
Wish I could put on a baby carrier and take the baby on my back!
